Give and it Shall Be Given to You

God is never moved by the wants and demands of Adam. Even when the cries of Adam are born out of legitimate needs there is silence. Self-centeredness and a demanding spirit are the ugliest of Adamic traits. Why? Because when a person is self-centered and making demands for some gratification, the awareness of the love of God towards that individual and the love of others towards them is cut off. The love of God requires a giving heart. When we have a giving spirit, even amid severe affliction, we open the door for God to meet our needs. “Give, and it will be given to you. They will pour into your lap a good measure — pressed down, shaken together, and running over. For by your standard of measure it will be measured to you in return.” (Luke 6:38). Continue reading
