Having Eyes Like a Flame of Fire

The deeper we move into a living word the greater our perception becomes. It is the word in us that peels away the layers of deception created by religion. We are crying to see and understand the hour that we are in, and what really opposes sons coming to maturity. But we cannot see everything at once. Layer after layer is removed, like scales falling from our eyes, and then we begin to see as our Lord sees.  “And to the angel of the church in Thyatira write: “The Son of God, who has eyes like a flame of fire, and His feet are like burnished bronze, says this…” And again in Rev. 19:

11 ¶  And I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse, and He who sat on it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and wages war.
12  His eyes are a flame of fire, and on His head are many diadems; and He has a name written on Him which no one knows except Himself.
13  He is clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God.

It is the spirit of religion that blinds the eyes of believers. It is the spirit of religion that wars against everything God is bringing in this new day of the kingdom. In previous messages by Henry DuBose it was emphasized how the “life-realm” does not carry any of the leaven of former levels in God. The leaven is the leaven of religion. We have to dismiss the obvious trappings of religion and see beneath the surface at how powerful and intoxicating religion is. Karl Marx once said that religion is the opium of the people. Well, I have no respect for Karl Marx, but what he said is right. Religion keeps people in a state of passivity. Sincerity of heart to love the Lord is not the issue. This religious spirit lies across all denominations, faiths, movements and individual relationships with God. We can only see the difference when we are exposed to a word that does not carry it.

We are not judging people, God forbid. But we are judging the spirit that wars against our perception, our ability to see and understand where God is taking us. The most vicious attacks against Christ coming forth in a people will come, and are coming, from those also naming the name of Christ.

John 16
2  “They will make you outcasts from the synagogue, but an hour is coming for everyone who kills you to think that he is offering service to God.
3  “These things they will do because they have not known the Father or Me.

“They will do these things because they have not know the Father or Me.” To whom exactly does this statement apply? The Jews of 2000 years ago? Or, does it have a present application? Seeing the Father through unveiled eyes is a process that is unfolding. Peeling away the layers of religion enables us to see Him just as He is. It is a living word that is accomplishing this work.
